We had an incredible experience thanks to our amazing server, Hanna Lockrem]! From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcome with her warm smile and upbeat attitude. She was attentive without being overbearing, knew the menu inside and out, and made excellent recommendations. Our drinks were never empty, and everything came out exactly how we ordered it. You could tell she genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time. We’ll definitely be coming back—and asking to sit in her section

As someone who’s sipped espresso in Rome, haggled for shawarma in Marrakesh, and caught futbol in the pubs of Dublin—Back Yard in Gilbert, AZ feels like a hidden gem with MVP energy. The atmosphere? Think: your coolest friend’s backyard cookout... if your friend also happened to be an interior designer with a love for giant TVs and elite sports packages. It’s aerated in all the right ways—open, breathable, and buzzing with good energy. Service? Fast, friendly, and on point. I ordered, blinked, and the food was there. No rush, no fuss. But the real kicker? You’re chillin’ like it’s Saturday at home, yet somehow watching the NBA, NHL, and UFC at the same time across massive high-def screens. It’s like the living room of champions. And yes—the food hits. Flavorful, fresh, and portioned like they actually want you to stay awhile. If you’re looking for a low-key hangout with big-league vibes, Back Yard knocks it outta the park. Would return with friends, family, or even solo—just for the vibes.

Kylie was our server who did an outstanding job and made our experience a great one. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant had live music, which was a wonderful addition to our experience. The food was really good and plentiful. The drinks were tall and good. My wife ordered a frozen margarita but their machine was broken so they comped the drink and replaced it with something comparable. Overall, my family was extremely satisfied with the service and food. I would recommend this establishment... my rule is to try everything twice before making a serious judgement or basing entry off a couple of ill reviews. Give it a shot and see how you fare. Cheers!

For father's day it got busy with one server but the waitress was very compassionate and in high gear. The manager with a busted hand came out to help until more staff show up. We waited almost 45min for food and wasn't disappointed, good grub. All in all enjoyed it. Thanks.

Very friendly check in process. Quick 15 minute wait for 3 of us on Saturday at 1:00. Love the DJ and the sound system sounds great. It’s loud but we liked it that way. Massive (Trust me they’re HUGE) big screens to watch the games. If you ever went to the old Sandbar, there was an awkward wall between the bar and main restaurant.. not anymore. They tore that down and it’s so much better — big and open! Very nicely decorated with great details and colors. Wings were large and delicious (highly recommend the garlic parm!). Menu prices are a few dollars more than what you might pay elsewhere, but you’re paying for the experience — games, music and high-vibe atmosphere. Server was friendly. Things weren’t absolutely perfect, but the very small kinks are what I would expect from a restaurant that just opened. It seems like a great spot for groups — I’ll definitely be going back!

The Backyard in Gilbert absolutely knocked it out of the park! Our server, Lacey, was fantastic—super attentive, friendly, and made sure everything about our visit was top-notch. The atmosphere was amazing, with a laid-back outdoor vibe that’s perfect for a night out. We felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time. The food and drinks were just as incredible. The Scorpion Bite cocktail was a standout—perfectly balanced and full of flavor. The truffle bacon was a decadent treat, and the burger? Absolutely on point—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. A huge shoutout to Lacey for making our experience even better. If you're looking for a place with great food, killer drinks, and top-notch service, The Backyard in Gilbert is it. We’ll definitely be back! Update: super bowl 59 Sunday visit - 4.5-Star Review for The Backyard in Gilbert We visited The Backyard in Gilbert on Super Bowl Sunday and were surprised to find it pretty empty. While the atmosphere was a bit slow, our server was friendly and pleasant. However, the focus seemed to be more on ensuring the 50 per person minimum was met rather than providing top-notch service. We had to request silverware and plates for our appetizers, which should have been provided upfront. That said, the food was fantastic! The pulled pork was tender and flavorful, and the side salad was fresh. We started with wings, which were delicious. The drinks were also excellent—the espresso margarita was a standout, and the pomegranate prickly pear margarita was just as impressive. Overall, a great spot with delicious food and drinks. A little more attentiveness to service would have made it a perfect experience, but we'd still recommend it!
